DALLAS, Texas / CANBERRA, Australia - February 18, 2009
OTA Training LLC, the global leader in hands-on, vendor-neutral RFID training and certification is including additional training for 4 Watt RFID devices in the classes it hosts in Australia beginning next month. In light of the lifting of recent restrictions, OTA believes this change will add valuable information to its next series of classes, which begin in March. Transferring of this information to students will keep them up to speed on the latest developments in their region and assure that they are ready to catch the potential tidal wave of new RFID activity.
In January, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) ruled that RFID devices with up to 4W of power may now be used in Australia in the 920-926MHz band. The highly anticipated decision followed four years of testing. Previously, the limit was set at 2 Watts. With the lifting of that restriction, companies should see increased opportunities for the use of RFID in various applications across Australia’s multiple industries.
“This is welcome news for both the RFID industry in general and certainly for companies looking to utilize the technology in Australia,” said Robert Sabella, CEO and Founder of OTA Training. “Our future classes will incorporate this recent change into our classroom offerings, delivering the latest information for our students.”
Among other things, OTA’s courses will teach students the vitals of how to install and commission RFID readers operating up to 4W Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) in Australia, in order to reduce possible interference with different Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) cellular mobile phone networks.
“As RFID use continues to ramp up in Australia as a result of the 4-Watt decision, we anticipate an increased need for employees knowledgeable in RFID technology,” said Sabella. “Our courses in Australia will provide a distinct competitive advantage for our students.”
OTA courses are taught by instructors who possess vital field experience when it comes to working with multiple frequency limitations. Their knowledge is essential to teaching companies how to effectively capitalize on this opportunity to streamline operations and increase efficiency through the use of 4 Watt RFID devices.
Many companies are looking to deploy RFID technology on a trial basis but are unsure how to go about it. OTA’s training efforts offer comprehensive solutions that will prepare them for RFID’s expected ramp-up in Australia.
